Show Review: 2:5 Chupacabra
***Please do not read if you have not seen the show! There will be spoilers!!***
It seems like this is the episode where everyone is really starting a character arc. Everyone is on the precipice of change, whether they want to be or not. Shane constantly badgering Rick about his search for Sophia is leaving Rick wondering if he’s doing the right thing, Glenn and Maggie are starting to have issues, but my favorite character arc is probably Hershel. He seems as if he is the grounding force but at the same time is so willing to put this group of people back out into the wilderness to survive on their own. Even after Darryl is shot and impaled by his own arrow.
Hershel seems like, maybe he is afraid of the change. So much has happened and he’s holding on to his humanity by a string, as is everyone. Everyone except Shane, the one person who seems to have embraced this new world like an old friend.
This is one crazy episode but it’s also a middle ground episode, where the tension is building and you can feel it from each character. It’s their choice which path to choose, but will it be the right path?
