Show Review: 2:4 Cherokee Rose
***Please do not read if you have not seen the show! There will be spoilers!!***
April Fools!!!! I wish I could tell you that something huge is going on. But as of today most of us that are caught up with Season Three of the Walking Dead AND it just ended. I’m sure they aren’t going to say that there is anymore episodes coming up. But wouldn’t that be great!? I’ll miss you Walking Dead… but until your return… I’ll continue with the reviews of each episode.
This is definitely one of those episodes where you get lulled in. You don’t see many walkers, the group has found a farm of survivors that look pretty decent, Carl is pulling through after the gun shot. Things are really looking up.
And then a bloated walker turns up in the well. Of course it’s Glenn who goes down to grab it… I’m screaming at the tv the entire time! What if he gets scratched or bitten while he’s trying to grab that thing? It’s repulsive, or so you think BEFORE it is divided in half and its guts fall all over the ground. I have to admit, I’m not squeamish and I absolutely freaking LOVED this part. But again, it’s one of those things that brings us out of the lull.
Yes, they’re at a farm, yes there are more survivors that seem like really nice people. But, it’s still the zombie apocalypse and it would do the group good to remember that.
But how do you remember that and still maintain your humanity? It’s a fine line that these people have been walking for a while. Grief, stress, and the idea that the end of your existence could be right around the corner, all make for a difficult life. Having any kind of happiness seems like a fool’s errand. I guess we’ll find out if it is for these people or not. For now, I’ll enjoy the fabulous drama on the safety of my couch, while eating popcorn!
