My Seryniti

About My Seryniti:

Hey guys! There’s not much to know about the two of us. We are mother and daughter. I, Nova Reylin, mostly read and review a ton of books while EJ Key writes most of the poetry (and might I add it is fabulous!). We both enjoy reading and have a love for sharing books with others. The feeling of being in a different world is just something that can’t be replaced and something we both hold near and dear to our hearts.

What will you find here? Oh a myriad of stuff. We are both pretty eclectic, enjoy a ton of different reading genres and we both write. I love to read everything from Horror to Paranormal Romance to some Spiritual Non-Fiction. It’s exciting to read everything that I can get my hands onto. It’s even more exciting when I can tell the world about it. Ej Key sadly doesn’t have time to blog often but most of her poetry is pretty emo and we love it! You’ll also see some rainbows because like I said, we’re eclectic and she can write about absolutely anything!

Why book reviews? What are your goals?

Honestly, I was blogging about a year ago about games that I was playing. MMo’s, plants vs. zombies and whatnot. And then I came across some book bloggers and thought. Now THAT looks cool. Did I realize back in January (2012) how much of an enormous time is invested? Not really? I just wanted to read books and give people what I hope to be an honest review.

My goal for this site is to be as honest as possible about the books I read and review. I am here as a service to YOU. Yes YOU! I want each person that steps away from this blog to say, hey that was a pretty good review, I want to put that book on my TBR list! Or wow, that doesn’t sound like something I would want to read. No matter what your reaction to the reviews I want to give you the service of Disney. I am here to do a service and you are my guest and I will do anything to make your stay as comfortable and pleasing as possible. Authors, Tour Hosts, Other bloggers, everyone… I am here for you.

I used to work for Disney and I realized that making people happy is the absolutely most fantastical and magical thing a person CAN DO. It’s simply amazing. I love knowing that I put a smile on someone’s face. Also, if you want to talk Disney, I’m totally here! I’ve been to Disney World over 100 times and although visiting the Magic Kingdom doesn’t have too much to do with books I love, love, love talking about it! You ask, I will tell. 😀

What gives Seryniti?

I have a lot of hobbies. Reading is first and foremost, writing, running (three R’s!) and painting, but I also enjoy having fun on the computer. MMoRPG’s are a huge part of my guilty pleasures, at least until my reading list is getting behind! I’m quirky, eclectic, ecstatic about life but sometimes a bit emotional (aren’t we all?), all of these things you’ll find in my art and writings and the books that I choose. I try to allow the emotions to shine through and hope that they touch you as they do me. Mostly I am impressed with the things around me and the emotions I feel at the time of the painting, writing and of course reading.

Being eclectic, I enjoy many things. This has and can be treasured or cursed! But being eclectic does make it easy for me to find topics to write about and a ton of books to review. I have always loved to read, mostly horror but have tried to diversify my reading list over the years. My parents thought that it would be great to punish me by making me write out of the dictionary when I was in third grade. Fortunately the love of words stuck with me as I grew into those teenage years and more importantly through today!

I hope my love for  all of my guilty pleasures shows through and as I learn and grow, I hope to share this journey with you. Our goal is to share our serenity and make you feel wonderful whether you come to read, visit or just to glance and leave.

Why Seryniti?

I realize that Seryniti is spelled incorrectly but I like it that way. Yes I get a tick if I see a misspelling elsewhere but Seryniti is a character in a video game and somehow she became a part of who I am. Naturally after playing in a game as a person (even if it looks like a cartoon) you begin to get their characteristics. Seryniti is a little of me and I’m a little of her and we’re both crazy. And although blogging can sometimes be stressful, I mostly fine my serenity here. It’s a wonderful combination to have and is really fun!

Why Spiders?

I LOVE them. I dream about spiders. I taught my daughter to love all things and she even loves spiders. ❤ Her friends know not to kill one in from of her. The conniption is bigger than just the drama it takes to deal with said spider!

And actually it’s my husband that runs to come get me when he sees one, or any kind of weird bug for that matter. I have always loved bugs but spiders get a special place in my heart. Maybe because in Native American lore spiders are the makers of creativity, the universe, basically everything spiritual. Everything that I want to be so I say ya to the spiders. Besides, honestly they eat the nasty bugs so let’s quit squashing the poor guys!

  5. My parents thought that it would be great to punish me by making me write out of the dictionary when I was in third grade… wow! Am struck again about how small incidents in childhood blossom into obsessions held over a life-time! May the ‘eclectic’ force be forever with you 🙂

    1. Ha! Thanks! I actually hated being so eclectic until recently. I’ve seen that it can be a force to be reckoned with instead of a hindrance! Imagine that. And yes, my parents are crazy people but they meant the best. And now MY daughter loves to read! It’s a great life!

Hi ,Thank you for your review of The Mosswoods. I actually love the fact that you could not stand Fern, Poppy’s mother! I didn’t like her much myself. Very close minded and stifling with Poppy and you were able to pick up on that very well! 🙂 I added your blog to my site here:
    http://www.astridyrigollen.com/c/press.html
I plan to redesign my website but links will stay 🙂
    Thank you again,
    Astrid Yrigollen

the virtual release party for St. Nick’s Favor, the sequel to Chasing
    the Trickster.

figure out how to do that with Facebook). And there
will be a book trailer for St. Nick’s Favor as well.

Free copies will be available to reviewers.

    Blurb:
St. Nicholas asks Nina Weaver to be his emissary. Her mission is to
take a one-way trip five years into her past to save the lives of
thousands of children. Doing this will result in her losing the life
she has built in New York City, including her relationship with
Pascal Guzman. Nina faces down corporate greed, attempts on her life
and the terrors of the Trickster God to keep her promise.

Even if you can’t attend the party, please drop by to “like” the page.

    Hope to see you there,
