Synopsis:

Anxious to leave her destructive past behind, Amelia Caldwell moves to Willowberg, excited for a fresh start. Once there, she discovers that her birthmark is more than it seems. She has been marked by a vampire’s soul. Not only does she hold his soul, but Amelia is also his soulmate.

After almost a century of searching for his soulmate, Mitchell Lang fears the worst—he is going to lose Amelia to another man. His heart takes over, and his impulsive decision to take away her free will and to intensify their bond quickly turns her growing love into hate.

When they become trapped in the emotional rollercoaster of their souls’ bond, open conflict erupts. Amelia has no intentions of belonging to anyone, not even her soulmate, and Mitchell refuses to let her go.

While she frantically searches for a way to escape his grasp, Amelia unlocks the painful memories of her past and uncovers a powerful secret. But before she has a chance to explore her newfound edge, she finds herself caught in the middle of a deadly game of revenge and is forced to realize that YOU CANNOT RUN FROM DESTINY.

My thoughts:

What an intruiging and alluring synopsis and cover! And I have to say, the book did not fail to meet my expectations.

I was very excited to join this tour, as we all know I’m a bit of a cover whore (hey, at least I can admit it!), but I had no idea what I was really getting into. The plot was fabulous, the story really jumps straight into the life of Amelia. And the characters were really great. Amelia has been through some harsh stuff and although it sucks she never lets it get her down. She has some issues but keeps trudging through life.

The idea of having soul mates is utterly amazing. Taking 800 years or so to find your soulmate probably takes a bit of the awesomeness out of it though. And because of this bond that Mitchell and Amelia has, their emotions are literally like watching a fireworks show. Never did I feel like it was too much, nor too little. Which is quite funny because I just watched a movie where a guy that absolutely loves his wife says that he also loves her when he hates her. That’s exactly how this relationship is!

Watching this push/pull is fabulous though, and add into that a LOT of drama and you’re in for a great ride. The ending was really good. No cliff hanger YAY!!!

I am curious what book two will entail though. This definitely ended so I’m hoping we will find out more about one of the other couples that are also soulmates.

    Approved!

“Verdict: While this classic vampire-human love story could have
been no more than another Twilight- style tale of possession, Stoyanoff takes
care to create both an innovative backstory for the creation of vampires as
well as a believable and entertaining romance.”
