His world spirals out of control when he discovers that he is a shapeshifting were-leopard, and finds himself unable to control his newfound anatomy. An unpredictable vampire enters his life, leading him down a path that soon reveals his destiny, and discloses another world, filled with magic and terrifying darkness. When he finds himself in danger from the god of magic and darkness for disobeying a curse bestowed upon his kind, forbidding him from falling in love with a human, he has to fight for survival, and protect everyone that he loves.
My thoughts:
Firstly, other than that amazing cover, I loved the detail of this book. Sadly I have never been to Africa but Leandi brings it to us, in full, brilliant, vibrant detail. That was definitely my favorite part of this!
The characters were quite interesting but there was something off about the writing that I couldn’t really put my finger on. That isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy this but I was thrown off from the beginning. It wasn’t the plot however and I really got into it about a quarter of the way in. I think many people will enjoy reading A Tale of the Other Kind! Especially if you’re into YA romance. Although this could easily be loved by all ages. I also definitely liked the fact that this centered around the hero! YAY FOR MEN! Am I right girls?! Yes I am! At least for this blog I am! I love a great heroine but come on! It gets old!
Also, the plot did not in any way drag. The relationship between Kai and Sienna was spot on! Very fun fantasy read!
