My thoughts:
This was a really good story, reminiscent of Cinderella! When she gets to her new life Hannah changes her name to Anastasia but she can’t change the lurking feelings of evil that seem to be everywhere around her. She’s just a teenager but she has to deal with so much in this! But she is a very strong character and still totally lovable! But believable in every way.
And speaking of lovable, her roommates are great! They reminded me of my daughter’s college roommates. Fun, flirty, they get into a bit of trouble sometimes and make the wrong choices and learn from their mistakes! It’s great. I absolutely love them. I was sort of worried at first that maybe they were a bit too apple pie but each of them has their own character flaws and pluses, just as you would get in real life.
Finn is probably my favorite of them all. Tall, dark and mysterious he steals every scene he’s in. You are left wondering if he really is as sweet as he makes Anastasia believe. Or is it all a rouse? That’s something I can’t tell you!! You have to read to find out. I can tell you however, that he is a great character with lots of depth!
The plot was great and it ended very well. I laughed, cried, sighed. There was a lot about astrology and mythology in here and that really impressed me. Some of the stories I already knew, some I had no idea about. The only thing that seemed interesting was how quickly Anastasia learns her gifts, for me it was a bit odd but with what she has gone through in earlier life, maybe not surprising. And the way it ends doesn’t leave you hanging but it does leave you wanting more of all of these fabulous characters! Only question I have for Kristen Day, what happened to the Whitmans? Do we find out later? I also want more sea turtles!!! 😉
Release date for the second in the series is Oct 2nd, 2012 and I have to say I can’t wait to see where this story goes!

This was the cutest story!! Want more cute stories?
I have to say this was a seriously cute YA paranormal story. I haven’t read much of the mermaid stories that I’ve seen on some of the blogs I visit. Any recommendations? Anything paranormal I love so I’m surprised I haven’t gotten into the mer stories. YET!
