August reading Updates!!!
It’s August 20th and I feel really good about my reading so far. Ten books down! Quite a few to go still for the remainder of the month but two read a thons are done! Summer Wrap Up helped me get started and Bout of Books helped me keep the momentum going. Although I have definitely realized that the weekends are just not productive enough. But if I can keep up this progress for the continuation of Review Copy Cleanup, I will be one happy girl!
I still also have the Wolf Hall Read a long as well. If you’re into The Tudors storyline although I’m only at part 3 of Wolf Hall, I can already easily recommend it! It’s a great story from a different perspective than normal. And honestly, I just can’t get enough of The Tudors so this is right up my alley!
Time Devoted to Reading
My Goals:
A book a day (ISH!!). IF I can accomplish that then this will be the most I’ve read in a month!
OHh!! Change of reading plans! I just received This Dark Earth from John Hornor Jacobs! Yes, I danced around the house a bit before I got a picture to post. I also hugged it to me and smelled the sweet, wonderful smell of newly pressed paper. I do realize this is killing trees but my last TEN or so books I read on my Kindle, so I’m thinking I don’t feel too bad about it. So, adding yet another book to my to read list for August! And I told him I may not be able to get to this. Yeah, it’s called making room for the zombies.

Wow!! Clearly you have done this before. It is my first time.. I will use this as a guide!! Great job! Here is my Bout of Books
Thank you! Half of it I got from Bout of Books but I have realized over the past few read a thons that if I write a list I feel more comfy. Plus I can always read them out of order. I always do! Hope you have fun reading!!
A book a day sounds like a HUGE accomplishment. I am not sure if I could do that. Good luck! 🙂
Heheh… it’s a book a day ISH. Like yesterday was not a good reading day at all! I did finish the first part of Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, which I have to say is fantastic! But other than that and trying to get into Entwined, another really good book so far, the day just decided it was not going to happen! But so far so good so I can’t complain.
This Dark Earth sounds awesome! I hope you enjoy it. 🙂 Good luck with reading a book a day too, I don’t think I’d ever be able to do that!
I already missed yesterday sadly! It just was not a day for reading! Even though I kept trying.
This Dark Earth was fantastic! I’m getting the review up soon and an author interview from John Hornor Jacobs. He is SUCH a great writer!
You have some great books on your list as well! Good luck with the read a thon!
Love that you are doing more than one readathon! That’s the way to get caught up on books 🙂 Good luck on your goals!

[…] August Read a Thon Updates […]
Do we have another read-a-thon addict? *guilty* Have a great time this week, and thanks for stopping by to take our challenge!
Ohhh yeah! My friends always say, didn’t you just finish a read a thon. And I look at them like they’ve grown two heads or something. Yes I did but this is a different read a thon!
Wow! You have a big list there lol
Good Luck!

Here is mine
Heheh 😀
It’s for all of August though and I’m still not expecting to get through every book. But adding everything to the list makes my life easier when I am trying to decide what in the world I want to read next!
You have quite the list yourself! I love how you added pages to your list also! I may have to steal that idea. 😀
Now that’s a lot of reading! 😉
Yes, yes it is! But it’s ALL of August, not just the first two weeks. And it’s really pushing me, that’s for sure! But it’s a ton of fun! 😀
You did great. I ended up doing nothing but reading all day on Sunday. It was bliss! Hope to see you during the next Bout-of-Books 😉
I plan on it! I noticed you added pages read as well. That’s a fantastic idea. I think I’ll pick that up for next time! I noticed they’re thinking Jan. If we do Jan 7th it’ll be over my birthday also! Ahhh… reading for your birthday, pure bliss!
I’m glad you enjoyed your Sunday! I love sitting back and reading when it’s a lazy day.
By the way, new follower. You have a beautiful blog!
Thanks! My birthday is in January too, but none of the dates fall during that week. I started adding page counts a couple of Bout-of-Books ago and it really puts my reading in perspective. I’ll always count books, but the page count is a little extra bonus. Some people counted hours read too. Not quite that brave yet. LOL!
