Synopsis:

Dear Reader,

Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn’t. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior’s day.

As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander’s sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.

But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace–the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?

What’s happening:

Grace Alexander is a sex therapist that has sworn off men. When Grace gets her birthday gift she laughs. A book that summons a sex slave. Yeah right, but what they hey, she’ll give anything a try as long as they get to eat pizza while summoning this lovely looking man. At first Grace is amazed, then appalled and then horrified as she learns of Julian’s last 2000 years. The pain that he has lived through and she wills to get him out of his curse no matter what it takes. It is this vow that starts their epic and passionate journey.

My thoughts:

Oh baby! Hot, hot, hot! The idea of Julian of Macedon is an intriguing one but Sherrilyn Kenyon realizes that being a love slave isn’t what it sounds like. Julian has to go through so much to appease everyone all the while he’s hurting and I hurt for him.

Grace also has her own set of issues but she is lovable and she wants to take care of Julian instead of letting him take care of her the way he has for so many decades. She’s a sex therapist and she wants nothing more than to make sure Julian is going to be ok and that SHE will be ok when he leaves. She’s sworn off men and he’s more man than she’s ever laid eyes on! This story line has some serious passion but it’s not over the top. The way Grace and Julian get together is hot yes but it’s also a little comical. The things that Julian does to egg her on are seriously funny but also endearing. Two lovable characters with a few supporting characters that really make this story a good, easy read.
