Book Review: Dangerous Tides by Christine Feehan

I have to admit I am definitely a Christine Feehan fan. When it comes to paranormal romance she and Sherrilyn Kenyon are my favorites. But I’ve let myself slack a lot lately. While away from home earlier this year I borrowed this book not realizing that it was actually the fourth in the series. That is another thing that makes both authors so great, you can easily read their books out of order without wondering what the hell you’re reading about. BUT they leave you curious enough to want to read the others in the series.

Synopsis:

With her sensual blend of paranormal romance and breathless suspense, New York Times bestselling author “Christine Feehan boldly goes where no writer has ever gone”*. Now she introduces Libby Drake, of the magical Drake sisters—each mysterious, gifted, and enchanted by prophecies of love…

Dr. Libby Drake is sensible and practical. To her more adventurous sisters, she’s always been the “good girl”. Certainly not the kind to attract the attention of a genius like Ty Derrick—until a tragic accident leaves the handsome biochemist at her mercy.

Acting on her uncanny ability to heal, she stirs in the reawakened Ty his own long-suppressed desires for the woman who saved his life. But he’s not the only man with designs on Libby Drake. Her miraculous and selfless power has also captured the attention of a dangerously influential admirer. He’s pursuing the elementally gifted beauty for his own wicked purpose. And he’s willing to go to deadly lengths to make it happen. — Goodreads

What’s happening:

Here we get to know more about Dr. Libby Drake, the good girl of the family. The one sister that is always watching out for everyone else, helping anywhere and everywhere she can. Then she meets Ty Derrick, the man that will not get out of her mind. She doesn’t want to get too close and seems a bit scared of why she’s so strongly attracted but she literally can not help herself and decides to heal him putting herself and her family in harms way by healing him of very extensive injuries.

Ty of course doesn’t believe anything about magic and repeatedly thinks that she’s a tad off her rocker but he also has a strong attraction to her and he doesn’t think he really wants to stay away. As they get closer, danger does also until they and her family and friends are all in danger.

My thoughts:

Christine Feehan never fails at making a very easy to read yet wonderfully written story. In Dangerous Tides there is so much that we learn about the sisters and the town and I literally absorbed all of it. It was fabulous! And this was without me reading the previous series of books but never once did I feel like I truly was missing something. Although I WANT to go back and read the entire series it was just nice being able to read book four without any issues whatsoever. As I said before, Christine Feehan is an amazing author and when it comes to paranormal romance she doesn’t fail. There are definitely some steamy scenes but not so much that I wouldn’t give this to my mother in law. Absolutely loved it!
