For the Walking Dead

In response to the end of the Walking Dead Season Two, EJ Key and I decided our blogs would be completely zombie related today. I mean, who doesn’t like zombies. Or hate them. Wait, do I like to hate them? Hate to like them? One way or another, it’s all fun until the zombies really do break out!

I will miss you until Season 3, Walking Dead. Ohhh.. and stay away from zombies that are giving out free hugs!

I have recently read two fantastic books, zombie related of course. Feed and Deadline by Mira Grant. The third in the trilogy, Blackout is projected to be out by May 2012! I do plan on being first in line for this one! If you plan on only reading one zombie related story this year, please make it Feed. It’s remarkable, fast paced and fun.

Written in first person mostly from Georgia Mason,  you get first hand insight on what it really is like to live in a zombie filled world, scared to go outside, afraid of your neighbor, or even your mother or father. Not only do Georgia and her brother, Shaun have to deal with zombies, but also a bit of political intrigue. Their small band of three which includes Buffy, a genius at technology, are chosen to follow Senator Ryman’s path to the White House. You will find yourself cheering for them as they encounter many obstacle’s while following Senator Ryman.

I fell in love with the characters but also with the storyline. Mira Grant easily explains how the zombies came about and what people did afterward. She didn’t miss a step!  Shaun being an Irwin doesn’t just deal with zombies but loves to get as close as possible while video taping the entire thing for those fans that stay safely behind locked doors and you’ll be happy that you’re safely tucked away just reading a book as they encounter more and more difficult situations, all for their blog, for us, for the Senator, for the truth!

What I recommend while reading this, time! I couldn’t put this book down. Make sure you have the time to get through both books without much interruption. You definitely won’t want to sleep.

Back Cover of Feed

“Alive or dead, the truth won’t rest. My name is Georgia Mason, and I am begging you. Rise up while you can.”

The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we had created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over buddies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

Now, twenty years after the Rising, Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives—the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will out, even if it kills them.
