If you enjoy Marvel then The Avengers is a must see movie. If you enjoy comedic action, great plots, fabulous characters with heart and soul, evil guys who talk way too long for their own good (didn’t Terry Pratchett warn you in Men at Arms that this is bad for you?!), and more! So much more. This movie, in other words, was to die for and is a must see!
Imagine this, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the lovely Black Widow all in one film. And those are just the Avengers. Nick Fury and Phil Coulson play extremely important roles in The Avengers and without them the plot just wouldn’t come together. The actors playing all of these roles are simply phenomenal and if you have yet to see the movies that correspond with the names, please go do so now and then head straight to your nearest theater to watch what may be the best film of the summer of not the year.

Loki also does not disappoint, although he does tend to talk a lot he walks that talk and is a formidable enemy. I really enjoyed watching him egg on the good guys and the more he did, the more I wanted him to lose.
I have to say Joss Whedon did a great job of pulling out all the stops. You have everything in one movie and my heart was palpitating the entire near 2 1/4 hours of it! He stole women’s hearts with Buffy and now
he’s using his prowess to get us watching what our guys have been interested in since they were children and not only does he do just that, but he adds in some heartthrobs to do it. Don’t get me wrong though, although these actors are extremely easy on the eyes Joss Whedon does what we want him to do, he gives us some eye candy but how we really want it, with a brain. He also gives us the beautiful Scarlett Johansson and if I’m allowed to have a woman crush she would be it! She does an absolutely amazing job at making me believe that not only is she a spy but a kick ass one that can look good while, well… kicking ass!
Each character goes through his own plight during this film. You want them to get through it, to beat the bad guys in the end. It’s nearly a tear jerker but the comedy was timed so amazingly that each dramatic pa
rt had a little laughter, or a lot sometimes and I have to admit I even clapped a few times, added in!
We got the latter in no small part because of Ruffalo, whose turn as Dr. Bruce Banner and his green monster alter ego The Incredible Hulk steals the scenes away from top-billed wise-cracking Downey with a quiet dignity as a mild-mannered scientist living in fear of himself. But The Avengers delivers laughs too, in a script heavy on pop culture references that lighten the dark mood
(hello, Earth is under attack here people) quickly without insulting the intelligence.
Only box office results will tell the real story, but finding a movie my husband and I can watch together is a super win in my book. — From Cafe Mom
I’m literally in love with all of these characters and hope to see many more by Marvel, Disney and hopefully Joss Whedon. And it looks like we will. Our Hulk, Mark Ruffalo has signed for SIX movies! Exciting? Oh hell yeah baby! Bring on the movies, I’m a new Marvel fan and hopefully we can make some more women out there fans as well!
If you aren’t one already, “The Avengers” just might make a comic book geek out of you. “The Avengers” is a game changer, setting the summer blockbuster bar to new heights. Now the question is how to further impress a genre culture that has just been given their coup de grâce.

I am so happy that it is a good film. To be honest, I’ve gotten quite jaded towards Superhero movies, though the Marvel movies have been the exception. I’m delighted to hear that its worth watching.
Saying it was exceptional doesn’t even come close!!! If you are even slightly thinking about it, I would definitely recommend! As if my glowing review of it did not already say that!
